Description

Fishing Boats Resting in Abstract by Roberta Byram. I walked past them one day on the other side of the Intracoastal Waterway at Holden Beach North Carolina. The very thing that caught my eye was the inactivity. Having lived on this island for a few years, this inactivity was quite unusual. All was still at the boat house and on the boats. The image before me and now you, was one of rest. No human, no movement, just a peaceful rest. Calm blue water, still trees, and not a cloud in the sky! I abstracted this image to put just a little movement in it! I had to stop and contemplate. This was quite out of the ordinary and I did not know what to make of it. Much like our lives that are so busy and moving constantly, I wonder if we would stop and contemplate if we were ever to just stop and rest?
I spent a little while just observing this restful image in the midst of constant activity and decided that I might like to apply it to my life occasionally. I think I might give it a try...how about you?
