Love This Town by Roberta Byram. I came upon this quaint town, Elkton Virginia as I drove through the mountains looking for photo opportunities. I parked my car and began to walk, camera in hand. I am often intrigued by small towns and the character of each. I found this bright mural on the side of a building as I ventured into the small town. I then, noticed a young woman painting these murals on the side of buildings as I walked along. Such talent, such love for her town. I regret not crossing the street and speaking to her. It was a perfect opportunity. It is obvious she loves her town and I am certain that I could have learned about it first hand from someone who clearly loves it. It is usually after a missed opportunity that I realize that it was in fact an opportunity missed! How many times do we miss opportunities like this? For me, it is all too often! From this day forward, I am going to try to be more aware of these and stop and smell the roses...how about you?
